Verified Sindh permits the arrest of Dua Zehra's "husband" Zaheer Ahmed and the recovery of Dua Zehra by the police.

In the purported kidnapping case, the Sindh Home Department has given permission for the police to locate Dua Zehra and detain her "husband," Zaheer Ahmed.

On April 16, the teenage girl Dua Zehra vanished from her Karachi home. She subsequently reappeared and declared her engagement to Zaheer in Lahore.

In a letter, the home department directed the anti-violent crime cell (AVCC) to locate Dua and detain Zaheer Ahmed in connection with the kidnapping case.

According to the government directive, "The in-charge police party shall acquire transit remand from court following arrests." The letter stated, "Be attentive of human rights when moving the accused and the abducted to Karachi." The letter states that the officer in charge "shall also take care that no individual from the other side travels with the accused."

Following her recuperation, Dua Zehra will be sent to Karachi with the approval of the Punjab home department.
