Elon Musk announced that he is cancelling his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter Inc. and take it private, starting a court battle with the firm.
Musk's representatives claimed Friday in a letter to Twitter included in a regulatory filing that Twitter had made "misleading representations" about the quantity of spam bots on the social network and hadn't "complied with its contractual obligations" to provide information about how to gauge the prevalence of the bots.
