The significance of Arafah Day
The ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah is known as the Day of Arafah because it is on this day that pilgrims assemble at the mountain plain of Arafah to worship their Lord and make supplications to Him. In fact, according to a hadith, "Hajj is Arafah" (Abu Dawud). As a result, Arafah is the essence and core of Hajj.
The day of Arafah is extremely notable since it is the day on which the wonderful ayah below was revealed:
"This day I have finished My favour with you and finalised your faith, and I have approved Islam as your religion," Allah said. Al Maa'idah 5:3 (Qur'an).
What is Dhul Hijjah?
On the day of Arafah, Allah (SWT) fulfilled the blessings He had sent to His beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and endorsed Islam as a way of life.
In his Tafsir, Imam Ibn Kathir states:
According to Tariq bin Shihab, who was quoted by Imam Ahmad, "A Jewish man addressed Umar bin Al-Khattab as "O Leader of the Believers! There is a verse in your book that all of you (Muslims) read, and if it had been revealed to us, we would have celebrated that day as a day of rejoicing. Which passage is it, 'Umar bin Al-Khattab enquired? The Jew answered:
The fact that Allah swore by this day in Surah al Burooj makes the day of Arafah noteworthy as well. Since it is well known that Allah swears only by the great and powerful, the Day of Arafah has immense significance.
"by a sky filled with massive stars. And by the Day that was promised. Additionally, by the witness and what has been seen" (85: 1-3)
According to Abu Hurayra (RA), the Prophet (PBUH) stated:
The Day of Resurrection is the promised day, the Day of 'Arafah is the witnessed day, and Friday is the witnessing day. (Tirmidhi)
Since the Prophet (PBUH) was asked about fasting on the day of Arafah, he said: "It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year," hence it is a recommended Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) for those who are not pilgrims to do so. (Muslim)
Also from the Prophet (PBUH):
"The day of 'Arafah is the day on which Allah releases more people from the Fire than any other day. He approaches those (those seated on Arafah) and asks His Angels, "What are these people seeking?" before moving closer to them." (Muslim)
What day in 2022 is Arafah?
On the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah, it occurs. For those who are unsure,
when is the ninth of Dhul Hijjah? It is anticipated to fall on July 8, 2022, albeit this is dependent on the moon's visibility.

2. ARAFAH DU'AA:
Recite the following du'aa on the day of Arafah:
Regarding the Day of Arafah dua, the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:
The best thing I and the prophets before me have said is, "There is nothing that deserves to be worshipped in truth except Allah, He is Alone and has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is All-Powerful over all things. "The most excellent dua is the dua on the Day of Arafah." (Muwatta)
لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له ، له الملك ، وله الحمد ، وهو على كل شيء قدير
3. Reciting the Tahleel, Takbeer, Tahmeed, and Tasbeeh:
On the day of Arafah and the days of Tashreeq, it is Sunnah of our Prophet (PBUH) to recite the Tahleel, Takbeer, Tahmeed, and Tasbeeh as many times as possible (11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul Hijjah).
Saying "Laa ilaaha il-lal-lah" is Tahleel's cue.
To say "Allahu Akbar" is Takbeer.
To say "Alhamdulillah" is to tahmeed.
To utter "Subhanallah" is to tasbeeh.
4. Ask pardon from the All-Powerful Allah:
Muhammad (PBUH) the Prophet said:
"Look at My servants, they have come from far and near, with hair dishevelled and faces smeared in dust, to seek my Mercy, says Allah, the Most Exalted, as He descends to the nearest heaven on this day. He is proud of His servants on the earth. I will pardon them even though their offences are as minor as sand or sea foam."
